Very much depends on where you're going, but even the most sticky, sweaty, "grotty" places I've been to have not allowed trainers as in white sports shoe type trainers, nor even the sort of white flashy hi-top things you can get in the UK anyway.
If I'm going to a horrible sweaty sticky indie club where I'm going to get booze all over everything and probably almost ruin my footwear, then I wear clubbing shoes guys old but still relatively decent looking pair of converse. If I'm going to a 'normal' club, somewhere in between the above two, I've got a pair of brown shoes from New Look.
So if they do get trashed on the night out, it's not the end of the world!
